Tyrion is my favorite cat. He’s my oldest, and at nearly eleven years old, he’s the Prince of the house. He cuddles with me nonstop, and sleeps by my side. One day during Christmas Tyrion asked me to write a story. He wouldn’t tell me if it was a true story or not, but I wrote it anyway. That story is Ever Mind the Rule of Three. Yep, Tyrion dictated that book to me and I wrote it down faithfully, just as he told me. Tyrion is a long haired domestic cat, and his fur is the softest you’ll ever find. Softer than satin.
Jynx is my tiniest cat. She’s an Oriental Shorthair and weighs maybe five lbs. soaking wet, on a good day. She likes to snuggle, too, and loves laying with the dogs, curled up against their warm bellies. Jynx is nearly 4 years old.
Aladdin is my Persian boy. He’s very shy, and he sleeps a lot. He has a massive, cottony coat and prefers I shave him down twice a year, otherwise he runs hot. Aladdin was tiny as a kitten, but now he weighs in at over 11 lbs. and is a husky, stocky boy. Aladdin, nicknamed Foofer, is almost five years old.
My oldest dog is Athen and she’s a mini longed haired Dachshund and nearly seven years old. She’s kind of a diva and very bougie. She’s stubborn as heck and demands she be first in line when treats are handed out. She’s short, but she runs like the wind. A very low wind. A flying wiener of a dog about four inches off the ground.
Aspen is my second dog, and she’s a red merle Border Collie. She’s nearly 5 years old. She was the first puppy I bought after moving east from California. Aspen has had one litter of puppies and she had a bit of a hard time of it, so we’ve retired her from having any more litters. She’s got the most soulful blue eyes you’ve ever seen. Aspen could stand to lose a few pounds, the vet tells me. We’re working on it.
Tundra is my crazy happy whirling dervish. He’s a nearly four year old gold and white Border Collie. Can you tell I love border collies? Tundra is full of energy and enthusiasm and takes off faster than a gas molecule when we go outside. He has the most expressive ears! Tundra was the father of Aspen’s litter, but he, too, has been retired from breeding and now lives the good life of treats, walks, and fun.
Introducing Angus, the newest addition to the family.
Angus was born in April and is the cutiest patootie that ever was. He is bright, smart, and loving every minute with his new family. Aspen, Tundra, Athena, and Storm couldn’t be happier with their new brother!
With Angus, we feel complete, at least for now. Might have to move into larger quarters if we adopt a horse or two. And a cow. Maybe a small herd of goats.
I love animals!!
